In a surprising and heartwarming gesture, the hospital’s in-charge, S. Singh, has decided to provide Kambli with life-long free treatment at the facility. Singh, who is also a fan of Kambli, brought him to the hospital and has been instrumental in ensuring he receives the best possible care2.

Kambli’s health has been a concern over the past few years. He underwent two heart surgeries in 2013 with financial support from his long-time teammate and friend, Sachin Tendulkar2. Despite his health challenges, Kambli made a public appearance earlier this month in Mumbai, where he unveiled a memorial of legendary cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar at Shivaji Park alongside Tendulkar.

Legendary cricketers Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar have expressed their concerns over Kambli’s health and have suggested rehabilitation as part of his recovery plan. The 1983 World Cup-winning squad members have also come out wanting to help their former teammate2.

Kambli recently admitted to enduring a real scare about a month ago when he collapsed due to a urine infection. “I was suffering from a urine problem. It was just flowing. My son, Jesus Cristiano, picked me up and brought me back to my feet. My daughter, who is 10 years old, and my wife came to help me,” Kambli told Vickey Lalwani in an interview2.

The cricketing fraternity and fans are rallying behind Kambli, hoping for his swift recovery. His journey has been a testament to his resilience and the unwavering support of his family and friends.
