During a rally in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for their treatment of tribals, raising questions about the exclusion of figures like Champai Soren.

    He highlighted that despite Champai Soren’s long-standing contributions to the JMM, he was disrespected, prompting him to join the BJP. Modi questioned, “Was Champai Soren not an Adivasi?” to emphasize the mistreatment of tribal leaders under the current government.

    He also pointed out that Sita Soren, another key tribal leader and a family member of the JMM founder, had been sidelined within her own party.

    Modi’s remarks come as part of his broader campaign to address tribal issues in Jharkhand ahead of upcoming elections, aiming to position the BJP as a champion of tribal rights in the state​
