Even if the Patna summit made an effort to put ideological and political differences aside, much more has to be done to bring the Opposition together. The disagreement between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party on the authority of the Delhi government is particularly difficult.

    Such conflict misleads the general population. The parties should be willing to settle contentious issues while forging a unified front and coming up with a winning polling plan in order to win over voters. 
    Undoubtedly, a lot more meetings are necessary before a consensus agenda’s specific details start to take shape. It is a difficult task to balance the conflicting requirements of multiple states and the goals of each participant.

    Although Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, derided the gathering as a photo session and a no show, politics is renowned for bringing forth odd bedfellows. A successful alliance for the benefit of all parties is desired. Undoubtedly, the nation needs a robust opposition that is capable of challenging the governing party. This is crucial in ensuring that democracy doesn’t devolve into tyranny.
