Here are five reasons why the twin towers were demolished:
1. The Supreme Court ordered the destruction after the court determined their building on the Emerald Court society grounds to be in breach of rules. The buildings were destroyed at the company’s expense under the supervision of the Noida Authority.
2. When the ‘Supertech Emerald Court’ housing society was first approved, the proposal called for 14 buildings and nine floors. The proposal was then altered, and the builder was permitted to erect 40 stories in each tower. According to the original concept, the land where the towers were erected would be turned into a garden.
3. As a result, residents of the Supertech Emerald Court society filed a complaint with the Allahabad High Court in 2012, claiming that the building was unlawful. The petitioners claimed that the Supertech group broke rules in order to sell more apartments and increase their profit margins. As a result, in 2014, the court ordered the authority to demolish the towers within four months (at its own expense) of the order’s filing.
4. The matter was then heard by the Supreme Court. The court ordered three months to demolish the towers last August, but it took a year owing to technical obstacles. The Supreme Court found that the function Object() { [native code] } breached construction codes in conjunction with Noida officials.
5. Homebuyers filed a number of petitions before the Supreme Court in favour and opposition to the Allahabad High Court’s verdict.
