Speaking at the post-day media interaction, Miraz highlighted the importance of a safety-first strategy given the current match situation. “Given the current situation, we will prioritize our safety first. We will try to bat as long as possible, which will be good for us and the team,” Miraz stated. He acknowledged that playing to win would require significant time and effort, including setting a target and then taking 10 wickets again, which might not be feasible within the remaining time

Miraz, who took four wickets in India’s first innings, admitted that the aggressive approach of Indian batters, particularly Rohit Sharma, had put Bangladesh on the back foot. “The wicket was a bit slow; the ball was keeping low. At times, there was extra bounce. They came with an aggressive mentality, which made it a bit difficult for us,” he explained. Despite these challenges, Miraz remains hopeful that Bangladesh can save the game by forming solid partnerships and batting responsibly
Reflecting on the first innings, Miraz lamented the lack of support for Mominul Haque, who scored an unbeaten century but was left stranded at one end. “The first innings is very important in Test cricket. Mominul bhai played really well, but we couldn’t provide him the support he needed from our side,” Miraz said. He believes that better support could have potentially changed the course of the game
Miraz also pointed out the unique nature of this Test match, where significant time was lost due to weather conditions, yet a decisive result is still possible. “There are many situations in Test cricket. It hasn’t rained for two days before this match. For me, this situation has definitely never happened before. There’s certainly a lot to learn from this match, and we have learned,” he note
Looking ahead to the final day, Miraz remains optimistic about Bangladesh’s chances. “In Test cricket, anything is possible. We haven’t completely lost yet. We’ve won many matches under similar circumstances before and have done well. There’s still an opportunity for us. The wicket is good. It will be challenging, but I believe if we can form a solid partnership and bat responsibly for a session, it will be a positive outcome for us. We still have tomorrow. Let’s not think negatively just yet,”
As th teams prepare for the final day, all eyes will be on Bangladesh to see if they can hold their ground and avoid defeat. The cautious approach advocated by Miraz could be the key to their survival in this closely contested Test match
