Women’s Stars Will Receive Annual Player Retainers, According to BCCI. In Grade A: Harmanpreet, Smriti, and Deepti.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the annual player contracts for Team India (Senior Women) for the 2022u20132023 season on Thursday. The pay structure for each category was not, however, mentioned in the release by the board. The following are the grade structures:

In its most recent announcement of the annual retainership for the 2020u201321 season, the BCCI also divided the players into three categories. A player in Grade A received a salary of INR 50 lakh per year, while a player in Grade B received INR 30 lakh. The yearly pay for a Grade C player was INR 10 lakh.

Both Taniya Bhatia and veteran wicket-keeper Shikha Pandey, who made a surprise comeback for the T20 World Cup in South Africa, are currently without contracts.
After an outstanding season, Pacer Renuka Thakur, who did not have a contract last year, has been placed directly into the B category.
From the C to the B category, Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues have advanced. Pacer Meghna Singh, batter Devika Vaidya, opener S Meghana, Radha Yadav, left-arm pacer Anjali Sarvani, and batter Yastika Bhatia are among the newcomers in Category C.
Pooja Vastrakar, an all-arounder who is prone to injuries, has been downgraded from B to C while Harleen Deol and Sneh Rana remain in the lowest category.
The BCCI made the historic announcement that its men’s and women’s cricket players would now receive the same match fees as last year. Accordingly, the women’s cricketers will receive INR 15 lakhs for a Test, INR 6 lakhs for an ODI, and INR 3 lakhs for a T20I, just like their male counterparts. Previously, the team received INR 1 lakh for an appearance in an ODI or T20 match and INR 2.5 lakh for a Test match.
However, women’s cricket players continue to lag far behind men’s in terms of retainership figures. The top players on the men’s team are assigned to Grade A+ and receive an annual salary of INR 7 crore.
