During a public event in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp critique of the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of being influenced by “Jinnah’s spirit.” Adityanath claimed these parties are perpetuating societal divisions akin to those caused by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whom he held responsible for the partition of India. Addressing a gathering at a district-level employment fair, he stated that Jinnah’s actions not only led to national division but also created long-lasting conflicts. He likened the opposition’s caste-based politics to the same divisive tendencies.

The Chief Minister highlighted the developmental progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership since 2014, emphasizing economic growth, societal harmony, and Uttar Pradesh’s transformation into a leading state. He contrasted this with the state’s pre-2017 condition, accusing previous governments of fostering lawlessness and appeasement policies. Adityanath claimed these administrations undermined public safety and promoted chaos, recalling controversial statements and incidents from their tenure.

He also accused Congress and SP of neglecting national heroes like Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and others, contrasting this with the BJP’s efforts to honor their legacies. Adityanath lauded initiatives like establishing a university in Maharaja Mahendra Pratap Singh’s name as examples of this commitment.
The Chief Minister also took aim at the opposition’s alleged strategies of appeasement and caste discord, asserting that BJP’s “double-engine government” practices non-discriminatory governance aimed at ensuring development for all sections of society. He argued that these divisive politics threaten the state’s current trajectory of progress and vowed to safeguard Uttar Pradesh’s advancements against any attempts to revert to disorder or communal tensions.
