Putting themselves in the shoes of their characters gave actors Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta the chance to reflect on the changes that have occurred in their own lives as they have overcome obstacles to find success on stage and screen.
Source: Bollywood NowThe actors never had the opportunity to appear on stage, although studying at the National School of Drama (NSD) in the 1970s for one year apart. When Kher adds, I know him very well, I know the facts of his life, those that he reveals with everyone and also those that he doesn’t, he appears to be referring to a close boyhood buddy.
Actually, he is referring to Preetam, a character he extensively researched and created for the play. He argues that a play tells the story from one stage of the character’s life to the next, but that individual has a richer, deeper life beyond that, and that is where I strive to get to.
